Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same serum that Ben Greenfield uses?

Greenfield Botanics Pure Radiance Serum is the serum that Ben Greenfield uses and helped formulate. It was previously sold as Kion Skin Serum.

Are the ingredients listed in order of amount?

The ingredients of Greenfield Botanics Pure Radiance Serum are listed in order of composition, from greatest amount to least amount.

Is this serum a moisturizer?

While serums and moisturizers both have moisturizing properties, serum is different than moisturizer. Serum is a lightweight formulation designed to deliver high concentrations of nutrients to the skin. The serum you apply is absorbed and penetrates deeply into your skin. A moisturizer is heavier, creamier, and creates a barrier designed to lock in moisture. Serums typically contain essential oils, while moisturizers contain larger, heavier molecules.

How does Pure Radiance Serum differ from Face and Body Oil?

Pure Radiance Face Serum has a lighter formulation and is designed to deliver nutrients deep into the skin. Pure Radiance Every Day Face and Body Oil is a moisturizer designed to help lock moisture into your skin. We recommend using a toner first, then Pure Radiance Face Serum, and then Pure Radiance Every Day Face and Body Oil for optimal results.

Does oregano oil expire?

Carvacrol, the primary medicinal component of Mediterranean oregano oil, has a shelf life of 3 to 6 years.

Should I take oregano oil everyday?

Oregano oil has potent antimicrobial properties.

Oregano oil is not a substitute for antibiotics.

It may be taken orally for up to two weeks at a time, but it is not recommended to supplement regularly for more than a few weeks as the antimicrobial effects could affect gut microbial diversity. There is a growing body of evidence that suggests gut microbial diversity is essential for human health.

Oregano oil may be applied topically. Discontinue use immediately if rashes or allergic reactions occur.

Where is your oregano oil sourced from?

Greenfield Botanics Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil is harvested from wild, organic oregano grown in the mountains in Turkey.

How is essential oil extracted from the oregano plant?

Greenfield Botanics Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil is extracted using steam distillation. Steam distillation is ideal for extracting temperature-sensitive ingredients from herbs. It is healthier than solvent extraction because there is no residual solvent, such as hexane, left after extraction. Steam distillation works best for oregano oil because it extracts medicinal terpenes and phenols from the plant without extracting pigments and heavier chemicals. The end result is a very high final concentration of therapeutic compounds in the essential oil.

What species of oregano plant is this oregano oil from?

Greenfield Botanics Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil is from wild harvested Turkish Origanum Vulgare oregano.

What is carvacrol?

Carvacrol, a monoterpenoid phenol, is the most abundant medicinal component in Greenfield Botanics Wild Mediterranean Oregano Oil. Carvacrol has potent antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, as well as the pungent aroma associated with Mediterranean oregano.

How should oregano oil be stored to protect its quality?

Store it in a dark glass container, tightly sealed, in a cool, dark place. Refrigeration is not necessary.

What is your dilution ratio?

1:7. We mix one part wild, organic Turkish oregano oil with 7 parts sweet almond oil.

What is the percentage of carvacrol?

Before dilution with sweet almond oil, our pure oregano oil contains a minimum of 80% (mass/mass) carvacrol.

Is it OK to take probiotics when using oregano oil as an antimicrobial?

It is best practice to take probiotics with your oral oregano oil regimen. Continue probiotics after your regimen to rebuild your gut microbial flora.

We recommend consulting with your health care professional before taking probiotics or herbal supplements. This is not medical advice.
